The decision by the the Swedish reimbursement agency covers Exdensur (depemokimab), a GSK medicine described by the company as ‘ultra‑long‑acting’. The treatment is administered as a single injection every six months, distinguishing it from other existing asthma biologics.

Reimbursement applies when the medicine is prescribed as an add‑on to maintenance therapy for severe asthma with type 2 inflammation characterized by elevated blood eosinophils, and which remains insufficiently controlled despite high‑dose inhaled corticosteroids and another asthma medication.
